Looking for a house - Estate agents

By Steven M
Looking for a house - Estate agents

If are looking for a house and you urgently need the house, a quick method is to look on google for local estate agents or letting agents.

Once you find these agents, have a look on their website and book a time to meet with them and to show you around the house you would like to see. Ok will need to fly over before you move to do this.

Some time agents abroad, charge you the fee for the house and not the house owner. This could be a few hundred or thousand.

Moving from 1 european country to another

By Steven M
Moving from 1 european country to another

When you are living and working in europe, you have access to health car and government support if you need it.

But each european country has a different system, but if for example you have been working in the UK, would earn credits for support and health care, in europe you can transfer those credit to a different euro country when you move there.

So you keep those benefit you earned.
For example -
- health care
- finance help
- pension
etc

You will need to speak to your local government to find out more detail, it worked for me when I moved from the UK to Germany.

Learning about the culture

By Steven M
Learning about the culture

Moving abroad is a exciting time, experience a new culture can open your eyes to wonderful new experiences.

I have recently moved to germany, I might be having a difficult time learning the language but I am still embracing the local culture in Munich. I would recommend diving in and experience what the local culture has to offer.

Speak to your new colleagues and find out what is happening on the weekend and holiday times.

Also remember to find out the do and dont in the culture, for example is germany sunday is for relaxing, not cutting the grass. You dont want to affend anyone.

If worth buying a guide book to read about the culture.

Have fun discovering new cultures around the world

Moving animals abroad

By Steven M
Moving animal abroad

Moving animal abroad can be a difficult time, but pets are part of the family. I recently moved abroad with our family cat from the UK to Germany by car.

There were a few things I needed to do
1) visit the vet for advice
2) Pet passport
3) what ever needed for the passport - injections

The pet passport was not difficult to get, but it did cost me money. The car needed a few trips to the vet for those injections for rabies etc.

Preparing the cat to travel
The nightmare was to start when travelling, a month before we travelled I started to place our cat in his box and locking him in, so he would get used to being in there. The drive to Germany was going to take 16 hours. So cat need to be used to his box, so we placed to cat in the box up to hour on a few occasion, and during that time we would give him so food treats.

We started to find over a few time in the box, the cat would start to enter the box by himself and would sleep in there.

Advice from the Vet
When getting the cats passport, the vet recommended the day of the travel, to spray the cat box with a special hormone to relax the cat on the long journey.
We now call this the miracle spray. The cat had no problems for the 16 hours. I was so surprised.
The special spray can be found at your local vets clinic.

All I can say with out the vet advice, the trip for cat and for us would have been a night, please visit your local vet for there advice.
